Day 11 – 5/8/11 – 17 miles (144).

The misty cold weather this morning fueled a quick 12 miles by lunch. But I lost my brand spanking new pack cover along the way 🙁 I’ll need to pick up a plastic bag (my original one got a big hole in it, so I threw it out thinking I’d replace it later when I’d actually need it) or dry bag in Idyllwild. I sent my shorts home in Julian, other than that, I’ve used everything I brought.

It warmed up in the afternoon, and we decided to camp fairly early at a nice campsite among boulders. No reason to push it any further today. We’re 8 miles from the highway and the famed Paradise Valley Cafe, which we’re planning to go to in the morning.
