Silverwood Lake

Day 24 – 5/21/11 – 22 miles (332)

We’ve really gotten into the hiking groove it seems. Every day we’re astonished to discover we’ve done 10+ miles by mid morning. This morning we continued along Deep Creek eventually making our way to Silverwood Lake. We took a nice break at a pavilion by the lake, intentionally not wanting to get too far today. You see, at mile 342 the PCT crosses I15, and there’s a McDonald’s there, and none of us wants to be there for breakfast. For maximum gorging potential, we need to put in some miles before we arrive.
So we’re camped up on a saddle overlooking the lake and the hills we’re headed down tomorrow, in deep contemplation of what food McChoices we’ll make tomorrow.
