Day 29 – 5/26/11 – 29 miles (436)

Finally a long day of hiking! I’ve been feeling most days like I could keep hiking after we’ve stopped to camp. Tonight, Moccasin, K-bomb and I decided after cooking dinner at 23 miles to push on another 6 to camp here at the North Fork Ranger Station. This makes for a much shorter day to get into town tomorrow.
All of today’s hiking was through the area burned in the Station fire. With no tree cover its quite hot. There’s definitely a lot of serious damage in the area, and most of the area is still closed to all public except thru hikers. One nice bonus with the wet spring is all the wildflowers in bloom.
