Day 6 – 19 miles (75 total)
With sources growing fewer and farther between, we had to start watching our water more closely today, a situation which will get worse before it gets better. And while the wind died down, the sun was still intense. I’m glad I chose to hike in long sleeves and pants. Even with applying SPF 85 thrice a day, what little of my hands is exposed is getting crispy. And I got heat rash all over my legs. But these are minor annoyances. Overall, I’m feeling great.
It really is true when they say that all of the PCT is a view. Most of the day I could see they valley I’m now camped in. Being a fairly wet year, there are tons of wildflowers and cacti in bloom. Oh! and I encountered rattlesnake #3 today!
