Warner Springs and forward

Day 9 – 7 miles (110)
Put in the miles first thing this morning with a brief stop at eagle rock, which actually does look like an eagle. Then it was on to Warner Springs Ranch! The resort is only 1.2 miles off trail and a popular stop for hikers to spend the night. Ninja, Busted Magic and I split a room and enjoyed showers, laundry, meals and swimming. I cannot describe how awesome it is to put on socks that aren’t stiff as cardboard.

Day 10 – 17 miles (127)
It was a bit tough getting moving this morning, but we managed to get back to the trail by about 9am. We had cooler weather for a change, and some trees the first few miles. It was back into the mountains for the rest of the day. We camped on the floor of the bunk house shelter at trail angel Mike’s house. Despite all the snoring around me, it was nice to get out of the wind. The weather turned overnight to damp, cloudy, misty, and cold. Not terrible, but not what’s expected in southern California.
