Day 35 – 6/1/11 – 22 miles (522)
Another guzzler (as far as I can tell, it just means a man made structure to collect rainwater) today, thankfully with much better water than yesterday’s.
The descent into the desert seemed to go on forever, up and down through the brown foothills, winds gusting the entire time.
We stopped in at Hikertown to get water and cook our supper, then headed out to get a few more miles in.
We are now following the infamous LA aqueduct across the flat valley floor.
By the end of the day tomorrow, we should be climbing back into the mountains. Tonight we’re camped just off the road in a little Joshua tree forest.
