Day 44 – 6/10/11 – 25 miles (676)

After some hot pancakes and coffee, I got back to the trail. We did a lot of climbing today, perhaps the most in one day yet.

KBomb was really feeling it in his pack weight, for he’d decided to pack out a 3 liter box of wine for Kennedy Meadows. By lunch time, he decided the load needed some lightening. By the day’s 25 mile mark, he was feeling very enthusiastic about continuing on for at least another 5 miles. Ninja, Roadrunner and I were not feeling the eagerness (nor the wine) and decided to stay put for the night. For the last week, everytime we leave from a rest point, we’ve been jokingly saying, “see you at Kennedy Meadows!”. This time we meant it!
