Day 56 – 6/22/11 – 11 miles (2 PCT) miles (792)

We took the 7am bus back to Independence, waited for the post office to open at 9:30, and got a ride back to the trailhead. When we were finally ready to hike at 11am, I wasn’t feeling well. I felt drained and nauseus. I think the Denny’s ordeal yesterday left me prone to altitude sickness (Bishop is much lower than the trail). I fell behind quickly and ended up having to stop and take a nap 2 miles in. KBomb waited with me while Ninja and Roadrunner went ahead. We were hoping to get back to the PCT and over Glen pass that day yet. I felt much better after the nap, and around 3pm, KBomb and I continued on. We ended up catching up to the others just after the pass where we camped on some rocky out croppings.
