Day 45 – 6/11/11- 26 miles (701)

Kennedy Meadows! Got a nice early start today and got to Kennedy Meadows around 4pm, well before the general store closed. After a pint of Ben & Jerry’s, I got my packages. Seven days of food (shipped from Agua Dulce), a new sleeping bag, ice axe, gaiters, headnet, rain mitts, and a bear can…. uh no, I have to carry all of this!
We headed up to the campground a couple miles up the road for the night. Sprinkles’s family came out to visit for a few days with their RV. They are awesome people, welcoming us hikers with great food and cold beverages.
