Day 49 – 6/15/11 – 22 miles (741)

Wow, 22 miles was tough for me today. I’m really feeling the altitude; I just felt lousy all day long. I did get some nice scenery though, including some meadows and views of the snow capped peaks we’re headed towards.
I’m also really feeling the mosquitos. I wore my rainjacket all day long just to keep them off my arms (they have no trouble stabbing right through my hiking shirt). I will pick up some permethrin next chance get.

We ended the day around a campfire with Spock, Twiggy, and Dutch. They provided some much appreciated comic relief. I’m hoping another night of good sleep will leave me in better shape for tomorrow.
