Day 73 – 7/9/11 – 17 miles (1007)

We were able to ford Falls Creek easily enough first thing this morning. This of course left us wet and freezing cold, so we moved as quickly as we could to stay warm. The first 10 miles were all on snow, finally getting to some trail just as we hit mile 1000! Shortly after, we ran into two dudes on horseback who informed us we were not on the PCT. We were so thrilled to be on clear, dry trail, we’d missed a turn off and ended up on some side trail. Thankfully, the turn was only a couple tenths of a mile back. The actual PCT ended up staying fairly snow free for several miles as well. Only 11 miles to town!
