Belden

Day 89 – 7/25/11 – 24 miles (1289)

Best on trail breakfast ever! After a wonderful sleep on a double stack of foam mattresses on the deck, I awoke to coffee, fresh berries, hot biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, and juice. I had to stop myself from pigging out too much, knowing I still had to hike today. Our wonderful host Nancy gave us a ride back to the trail.

The 24 miles into Belden went quickly, and we arrived at the “Belden Town Resort” around 5pm. Belden, population 14 (literally), is a strange place. We ate dinner at the resort restaurant and then called the Braatens, yet another trail angel family who picked us up. They live just down the road and host hikers in a dedicated cabin. Two showers in 2 days! Amazing!
