Day 85 – 7/21/11 – 21 miles (1197)

It was a trumor! Snow free for nearly 20 miles! It was also a 3000′ elevation drop into Sierra City, making for a quick day into town.
The entire town can be seen standing in one spot, and the Red Moose Inn is definitely the place to be. The owners are very hiker friendly, allowing free camping in the the backyard, showers and laundry. They also serve very reasonably priced meals to hikers – all you can eat BBQ ribs with carrots, potatoes, and beans for $11 can’t be beat!
