Day 143 – 9/17/11 – 16 miles (2492)
After breakfast at the Baring Store, nine of us hikers piled into Mr. Dinsmore’s truck for a ride back to the trail, stopping at the Post Office for Ninja’s box on the way.
It was cold and misty and spritzed on and off all day. Knowing the forecast of possible snow above 5000′ tonight, we stopped fairly early and made camp as low as possible, around 4300′, in a valley that seemed to have nicer weather than everywhere else we walked today.
Oh, and I finally saw a pika today!
