Day 39 – 5/31/13 – 19.9 mi (705.4)
Today went a lot better. The morning started with ominous clouds, but they cleared up by mid-morning, though the wind was still terribly cold. Up at 12,000′, we got some great scenery with towering peaks, big snowfields and also some bare ground. Navigating was a lot easier.
In the afternoon, we post-holed our way through tree covered slopes and ended the day with a push up Silver Peak and down the other side to camp at Silver Pass. It was an exhausting day, but it felt good.
Tonight doesn’t seem quite as cold as the last few, so LoveNote, Stryder and I are all cowboying…as closely as possible!
