Day 48 – 6/9/13 – 25.9 mi (831.8)

We walked a few miles before saying goodbye to Trippin’ Ant, who split off to hike a return loop to his truck. He was very generous to us and it was cool to get to hike with him too. Thanks, Trippin’ Ant!

We originally planned this leg to take us 2 full days, and because of the short day yesterday, figured we wouldn’t get to Lake City until tomorrow. It became clear by lunchtime that we were making great time on the easy, snow-free terrain, and would easily make it today.

We made a nice supper in our motel room. The boys even ate some green vegetables.
