Day 97 – 7/28/13 – 13.8 mi (1721.4)
I didn’t sleep well last night because it dropped below freezing and I was cold. Oh well, it’s town day!
We did a good job following a combination of official trail and choose-our-own-adventure routes. It was actually kind of fun, and the miles went by quickly. In the last half mile before the highway, while cutting cross country through the woods, my pants got caught on a log and I face planted pretty hard. I got a nice gash in my leg and had to stop and sit for 10 minutes to get my wind back.
All 7 of us stood at the highway hitching to Dubois, WY. I was worried having such a big group would scare people off from stopping, but we lucked out and we were all able to fit in one truck.
In town we got lunch and did some errands. In the afternoon, a local couple LoveNote had met earlier in town drove up to our hotel room (it was pretty obvious with all the stinky shoes lined up and sleeping bags airing out in the parking lot) and gave us two big bags of homemade bars and cookies!
