Day 123 – 8/23/13 – 26.9 mi (2236.8)
Speaking of buns, LoveNote and I are going to have some fantastic ones after all the climbing we did today, over 7000′. We felt like we were transported to northern Washington on the PCT in mid September, going up more than 1000′ at a time over passes only to drop right back down the other side, all in a light rain with a breeze bearing the distinct chill of fall.
The trail itself was well maintained and easy to follow and at lunch time the sky cleared around a beautiful lake. Nothing makes LoveNote feel more patriotic than a beautiful view.
We got a nice afternoon of sunshine to dry out and then sweat up again. We’ve somehow lucked into a great setup for hitting nice campsites (last night and tonight) and lunch spots (ok, just today). This is our longest streak yet!
