Day 133 – 9/2/13 – 25.6 mi (2441.2)
It was very warm last night, 68F when we woke up. Not what I was expecting in northern Montana in September, but I’ll take it. Sweetfish took off this morning, planning to hike a big day so he can get into Benchmark early enough tomorrow to hitch into Augusta and back for resupply. The rest of us have sent boxes to a ranch at Benchmark or carried enough food from Lincoln.
We had more walking up and down the divide the first half of the day. After lunch we dropped down into a valley and followed a creek the rest of the day. It was a nice change and will continue tomorrow.
We’ve been pretty lucky with bugs lately, but the flies were annoying today, swarming everytime we were still. Thankfully they are absent tonight, outside the Welcome Creek cabin where we are camped with Bo.
