Day 5 – 7/5/18
~10.2 miles
Horseshoe lakes to Upper Basin
Too lazy to write tonight, so here’s the day’s bullet points:
⁃ All off trail.
⁃ Mosquitoes apocalyptic much of the time.
⁃ Marion Lake is really really blue.
⁃ Poop Your Pants Pass (designation from my friends Allgood, Snorkel, and POD) really wasn’t bad, but ready to have a break from the talus by the end.
⁃ Stopped just short of the PCT, enjoying our solitude.
Here are too many pretty pictures:
FYI – this will be my last update for a while. In an effort to save weight, I did not bring my camera battery charger this trip, and uploading the photos to my phone drains the battery. So, the rest will wait til we’re done hiking in a couple of weeks!
Never too many pictures. It is beautiful country. Glad you are able to enjoy it and will be patiently for your next update.
Bleak and yet beautiful.
Great pictures. Think I saw purple flowers. Thank you.
Great pictures. Perpetually frozen lake and then I thought I saw purple flowers? Thanks for sharing
